The Academic German Semester (AGS) programme is yet another building block of the university’s strong international and multi-cultural orientation. It is directed at foreign students with intermediate knowledge of the German language who plan to embark on a degree course at the University of Passau or another German university.
A joint project by the Language Centre and the International Office of the University of Passau, AGS is intended as an affordable opportunity for students to improve their German language proficiency in only six months. Those completing the course will be given ample preparation to pass the official German language proficiency test for university entrance (DSH), a prerequisite for foreign students wishing to enrol at a German tertiary education institution.
The course participants will take intensive German classes five days a week, taught by experienced lecturers. Extracurricular activities will be guided by tutors who are also available to help the course participants with any questions or problems that might arise.
