The new Academic German Year programme is yet another building block of the university’s strong international and multi-cultural orientation. It is directed at foreign students with little or no knowledge of the German language who plan to embark on a degree course at the University of Passau or another German university.
A joint project by the Language Centre and the International Office of the University of Passau, the Academic German Year aims to provide students with an affordable opportunity to learn the German language in as little as one year. Those completing the course will be given ample preparation to pass the official German language proficiency test (DSH), a prerequisite for foreign students wishing to enrol at a German tertiary education institution.
The course participants will take intensive German classes five days a week and will be taught by experienced lecturers. Extracurricular activities will be guided by tutors who are also available to help the course participants with any questions or problems that might arise.
